Searching for information about postcards of the city of Meran, I found that some of them are listed in “Places = Italy”, some in “Places = Germany”.
For your information: the region of Tirol or Tyrol has been a part of Austria from the Middle Ages until 1918. Since then the southern part is a part of Italy, the northern and eastern part are still Austrian. Tirol has never been a part of Germany.
About Meran specifically: the city is in South Tyrol and today in Italy.
