Do you have a preferred image quality for contributed images? I probably have over a dozen cards that I could eventually upload and should be able to scan at any dpi you prefer.

Hi-Thanks for your interest. I think the best quality you can manage is fine. From a good quality cell phone or scanner. Alison

Well, tell you what, I’ll start with a couple at 300dpi as a test, but I could certainly go to 600dpi if you’d like, and possibly higher if you’re especially masochistic. :slightly_smiling_face: Higher dpi images might clog this thread a bit.

These two cards are a bit damaged/grubby, but I couldn’t find either on your Ephemera site. The first is approximately 5.5"H x 4.375"W.

Okaaaaay, one image per post I see, so three more posts to follow.

It appears that the forum cuts the size of the images, anyway, so perhaps high quality doesn’t really matter. Okay, here’s the back of the first card.

And now the forum won’t let me, a “new user”, post anymore in this thread.

Alison, it might be easier if I just email these to you. I still have your email address from a prior eBay purchase you made.

HI-Thanks for the images. I haven’t added many of these single cards to the database yet as I have to identify the sets that they will go into. I have only added cards with numbers for the most part as they are easier to sort into sets. I will have to think about how best to add them. A set of unnumbered artistic series cards would be too big as there are thousands. Any suggestions? Alison

Hey,
I’m new to this forum.
I joined because I noticed that there wasn’t a picture of a postcard I possess on the TuckDB website and would like to help out.

I have a ‘woman leaning over with hat in hand talking to parrot’
Number: 4035
Estimate: $10.00 USD
Orientation: Vertical
Set Title: ART noveau studies
Set Comment: CONTINENTAL, ENGRAVED IN PARIS, deckle edged
First Use: 18/02/1903
Where Sold: Great Britain
My distant family had it framed in the past and is in perfect condition.

I have attached some photos below
It will only let me attach one but I did crop it and have photos of the back which also hasn’t been written on.
Does anyone know how much these might be worth?

Kind regards,
Ed.

@ItzEddy159 Welcome to the forum!

Is that a postcard in that frame?

Is this the set you were talking about?

@justintanner yes it is in a frame at the moment and can confirm it is part of that set.

@ItzEddy159 I’ve uploaded that image to: woman leaning over with hat in hand talking to parrot - TuckDB Postcards

Thanks, Justin.

Hi,

This Tuck doesn’t appear to be on the database:

Bertherlot Street, St Peter Port, Guernsey

Images attached.

Thanks @ColinTheLibrarian I’m thinking this card might go here:

But I’m not sure.

@amilling8, @edendasilva ?

HI-I am sorry I can’t get the image big enough to read the letter and number code. alison

Thank you both. The letters and number at the bottom of the main image are: ST P.P.3.

With best wishes, Colin.

@amilling8,
You never let me know if you received the images of the 3 cards I emailed you back in February, so I figured I’d best go back to posting here. But then my “new user” status kept me from doing that…for over two months! However, this evening I was magically promoted just for hanging out here for longer than usual. :grinning:

Anyway, here’s the first of several that I’ve been unable to find in the DB. It’s about 4.375" square, although with a diamond orientation, so I’ve scanned it that way.

I’ve also got a similar one with daffodils, that I can post tomorrow, if you want it.

Hi-I am not sure if this has a number. I only have the numbered cards listed so far. Sorry but I can’t add right now if there is no number. Also I would like the details on the trademark ie London registered or Prizes design or artistic series. If this has no number then the trademark info is how I will probably put them into sets. I can’t enlarge well enough to see the details. sorry but I can’t keep up. If for sale I could purchase. Alison

Hi-Many thanks for the info on the Tuck card. It seems to be a set new to the database. I have added the info as best I can and uploaded the images and given credit to you. Many thanks in your interest and in finding a new set. If you have any others, please let me know. Alison

Hi @amilling8 ,

It does not appear to have a number and the trademark only seems to have the generic “ARTISTIC SERIES”. Here’s a similar card (also about 4.375" square) which I think has a bit less glue residue in the trademark area making it somewhat more legible.

There’s certainly no urgency in adding them to your DB. I just want to get these images into your hands so you can have them available to add at your convenience.

However, the 3 cards I sent you by email in February do all have numbers, so that’s why I keep asking if you received them okay. Sometimes emails with large attachments just vanish. If you didn’t get them, I can post them here now.

The cards I post here aren’t for sale. Although I’m not specifically a Tuck collector, I’ve acquired these cards to supplement my Arbuckle Coffee Victorian trade card collection and web site, when I find that Tuck and Arbuckle used the same design.
